ELISA Analyzer; Provide Quantitative Results For Immunological/Biochemical Parameters
An ELISA analyzer is analytical instrument that perform a basic function that is needed to process an ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay). It is a laboratory test commonly used to detect antibodies in the blood. ELISA is an immunological assay commonly used to measure antibodies, antigens, proteins, and glycoproteins in biological samples. An ELISA Analyzer is a lab instrument used in the research and clinical fields to perform immunological assays that are specific as well as reliable. It is considered the gold standard of immunoassays.
ELISA
tests are typically performed on blood or urine samples, and give either
positive or negative result. These tests are semi-quantitative, and a value can
be determined using a calibration solution or a reagent to quantify the
antibody level in a sample. The most common form of ELISA involves immobilizing
an antigen (usually protein) on a solid support, such as a polystyrene microtiter
plate, and adding a detection antibody that binds specifically to the antigen.
Depending on the specificity of the antigen, this can be either
non-specifically or specifically.
ELISA
works on the principle that specific antibodies bind the target antigen and
detect presence and quantity of antigens binding. In order to increase the
sensitivity and precision of the assay, the plate must be coated with
antibodies with high affinity. ELISA analyzers are used for medical and
botanical diagnostic tests and in the industry for quality control. ELISA
workstations use two main test types, the indirect ELISA and the sandwich
ELISA. In the indirect method, the sample is run over a solid phase to which
the antigen of the tested for protein will adhere.
Sandwich
method uses the same basic principle, but the sample is added to a plate where
antibodies already are, then the secondary antibodies are added, thereby
sandwiching the antigen between the two antibodies. The Diagnostic Automation
Japanese Encephalitis IgM ELISA test for exposure to Japanese Encephalitis
Virus (JEV) is an ELISA system for the detection of antibodies in human serum
to JEVderived recombinant antigen (JERA).
